About the Conference Proceedings Series
Climate change presents a complex challenge that affects global health systems, communities, and economies, with increasing climate-related events exacerbating public health threats such as disease spread, food insecurity, water scarcity, and displacement. The health sector, already vulnerable to systemic weaknesses highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic, must adopt robust and equitable strategies to enhance resilience and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 on health and well-being. Integrating climate change adaptation into global health strategies requires a collaborative approach, strengthening primary healthcare, empowering communities, and enhancing healthcare professionals' capacity, with nurses playing a crucial role in bridging health systems and communities. In alignment with these global priorities, the Departments of Nursing at Universitas Gadjah Mada, in collaboration with our national and international co-host, will conduct the 5th International Joint Conference on Nursing Science (5th IJCNS 2025) under the theme “Integrating Climate Change Adaptation into Global Health Strategies to Achieve SDGs,” bringing together nursing and healthcare professionals to foster dialogue, share best practices, and advance climate-resilient healthcare systems.
